The Southwest Florida Water Management District?s (District) ?Skip a Week? public service advertising campaign ran from November 2009 through February 2010. The campaign promoted watering lawns only every other week during cooler months (December-February). Districtwide surveys conducted before and after the campaign measured Skip a Week?s effectiveness. Overall, research confirmed that the desirable behaviors promoted in the campaign increased and the undesirable behaviors decreased.
The Southwest Florida Water Management District (District) created the Water Conservation Hotel and Motel Program (Water CHAMPSM) to reduce high water use in the hospitality industry. An audit was conducted to compare water consumption of 115 Water CHAMPSM participants before the program's implementation in 2002 to that in 2007.
